  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, all author-identifying details have been removed in the case of material for peer review.

A separate title page including author’s name, contact details and a brief biography, should be sent as supplementary material with the submission.

Research Notes

The articles in this section are not peer-reviewed as are the other articles. They are, however, reviewed by the editor and it is expected that these articles will be written in an academic form and at a level of quality similar to other articles.

‘Research notes’, however, are shorter pieces, usually between 2,000 and 3,000 words in length, making them about half the length of a full article. They provide an opportunity for students, scholars and researchers to share information about projects that are underway or about information that has been released that will be of interest to others, before the projects or analysis has been completed. Hence, these Research Notes encourage feedback which can contribute to the on-going project.

Abstracts are not required for Research Notes.

The criteria by which materials will be accepted for Research Notes will be:

  1. The article contributes new information or theories that will be useful to other scholars and professionals working in ministry.
  2. The article is written in an appropriate academic form for publication in the Journal.
